Diseñado por SOM y Renzo Piano Building Workshop, la construcción de la primera fase de la ampliación del Campus Manhattanville de la Universidad de Columbia comienza a tomar forma: se acerca la culminación del Centro de Ciencias Jerome L. Greene -con certificación LEED platinum-, cuya apertura está programada para otoño de 2016.

515 years of history in 47 seconds (One World Trade Center)
An imposingly realistic vision of the old 1 World Trade Center,
the ultimately doomed north tower, will begin appearing next month in a
most unlikely place: the five special elevators servicing the
observatory atop the new 1 World Trade Center.
From the moment the doors close until they reopen 47 seconds later on
the 102nd floor, a seemingly three-dimensional time-lapse panorama will
unfold on three walls of the elevator cabs, as if one were witnessing
515 years of history unfolding at the tip of Manhattan Island.

First Look Inside BIG’s W57 Manhattan Pyramid

Field Condition has published a photographic tour through BIG’s first New York project, two months after W57 topped
out. A “courtscraper,” as the Danish practice affectionately calls it,
the 32-story, 709-unit tower is a hybrid of the European courtyard block
and New York City
skyscraper. It’s tetrahedral shape, “born from logic,” is designed to
provide every resident in the building’s North Tower to have views of
the Hudson River, while allowing sunlight deep into the
building’s interior space. View the project from within, after the
